lightning and thunder

we have been learning about lightning and thunder in reading...

  • That thunder and lightning
happens during a storm.
  • Lightning is made out of static electricity.
  • You know how far away if you count the seconds away from the lightning.
  • Ella: Thunder and lighting usually come in a storm together.
  • Devan: I think that thunder is a strong sound that occurs in a storm
  • I think that lightning is a static electricity force that also occurs in a storm

I know that a storm is Brooding because a storm is mixing to create thunder and Lightning

Braeden: when he negative and the positive atom combined together they make a big flash of lighting.

Katy
  • I have learnt that we can make static electricity by using a plastic hair brush in your hair

Stella
  • That during a thunderstorm you should not use electric things taps and sinks and even TV’s because the aerial attracts lightning.
  • You know that there is going to be an thunderstorm when it is an humid day and when the clouds are billowing and becoming back .
Ella
  • If you are in a storm and you can’t get inside, you have to duck down low and hide under a group of trees.
  • Metal and any object that runs on electricity attracts lighting.

Arwyn: I learnt that if you are in a big open space with no cars or houses near you have to duck down and hold your knees and get away from anything metal. DO NOT LAY DOWN!


LIAM
When lightning strikes from a storm cloud, the whole cloud lights up like a lamp.

Devan: when lightning strikes then the static electricity in the cloud goes up, down, up, down
