The zoo

My heart was thumping away and it felt like there was an earthquake inside me. I was so exited as room 1&2 made there way along the path leading to a exquisite sight...

We were on a trip to the Auckland zoo, and I couldn't wait. I love the zoo seeing all the animals I don't usually see, and after a long bus trip (witch felt like ever!)  We were all sooo inpatient.

Here are some despicable pictures

It was a whole day trip and we also did lots of fun activity's such as pretending to be a a orangutan and doing everything without a thumb like undoing a double knot, reaching things inside a tube and writing your name. This was how I wrote my name:

...And how I normally write my name:

It doesn't look much different but it is a lot harder trying to do it neat!
The other activity's were animal tracking devices, Here is how the devices worked...
you want to find out if there are any disgusting dirty pests where you are placing pals to keep safe
from harm, so they put the pest devices down and put a piece of paper on the bottom of the device, then adds a little ink and food in it. The pest walks past with
his nose high in the air and he smells something good, he creeps around following his nose and he finds the food in the pest tracking device. The pest steps in the ink and gets footprints every where then when you come back you find out what made the footprints and that's how you know if there is any pests around!

For our activity we had to work out what made the footprint.

I learnt that orangutans are 97% like us
I learnt that an elephants tooth is as big as a whiteboard duster!

And I learnt that red pandas weigh up between seven and eleven pounds
